Hackles raised
With the advent
Of some unknown
And unknowable
Beyond the fringe
Of a haze
Most dense
A trail
Betwixt and between
Courage unstilled
Curiosity unquenchable
Footfalls not to be denied
I step forward
Into the haze
The unknowable
Becomes known
Only to those
Who enter it
Below the sun
Dandelions in fluffy flower
The mountain haze
Renders sky blue
And here are we
In the breezeless warmth
At the end of a day long hike
Hand in hand as always
As if for the first time
Together for all time
I find the beauty
In the lines
The forms
And open space
Which let me roam
