In these hallways
I’ve created oh-so-many worlds
For the dream factory
To film its stories

Police stations
And hospitals
Apartment buildings
And condemned spaces
Secret headquarters
And schools of magic

Awakening in the Dream Factory

The sun burns
Bright and hot
Washing out the sky
In the alley
Where people die
And the Dream Factory makes
Stories that don’t really matter
Stories that deflect and desensitize
