The maelstrom
Of life
Which is
India
They wait
India
They wait
The mountains
And the sea
Beneath azure skies
Underway
Destination of no concern
And I
Reflecting
Alone
In my thoughts
With nary
A care
But for the beauty
Of it all
Sometimes, while crossing
I remember
There are dreams to be fulfilled
On both sides
I love being in a place
Where creativity thrives
Where paint and passion
Offer more vibrance and colour
Than nature’s grandest sunsets
Not clinging
Preparing
To leap
Not a beach
For laying out towels
Basking in the sun
Building castles
In daylight
Pretty enough
As I drive by
Between
The day behind
The day ahead
When time
Is all
My own
A quiet
Internal
Revel
In the beauty
Of it
All
You see
The mighty columns say
This once was plain
Withered away
Exposing us
The roots of Earth
Soon enough
More rain will come
Erode the land
You’re rooted on
Until you fall
Then come to rest
As dust beneath
Our hoodoo feet
