Market day patience
Soft light for light-hearted friends
Heavy load their throne
Author: Patrick Jennings
Burden
A burden carried
Against the flow
In the dim light below
Undaunted
Unperturbed
Destination in heart
Resolute
Relentless
Though obstacles obscure my steps
The narrow path is straight and true
Through it all I make my way
Moments I’ll not Remember
In motion
I am still
In stillness
I am empty
In emptiness
I find no peace
Hollow
Haunted
Vacant
Amidst this familiar pandemonium
I alone am solid
Yet invisible
Carrying as passenger
A pain which pays no fare
Answers no questions
Offers no solutions
The me of this moment
None will remember
Not even I
But here
The pain shuffles off
Into the crowd
And I will not remember it either
Strength ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #359
Rishikesh to Delhi
World in flight
Through a bus window
At 80 kph
A flurry of images
In unknown tongues
Gone too quickly to understand
Collected in 1/680th time
A moment stopped for further consideration
On a later date, today
Bold art, like old propaganda…
To announce a new hydroelectric dam?
Drag the photo into translate
“Great Compressive Strength”
Ah, just an ad for concrete
I wonder again
At how unfathomable
The wide world could be
Before Google
…and yet, remains still
Waiting for What’s to Come
A night market lull
Politics and jewelry
Impatient vendor
Manifest Colour
Suffocating smoke
Smothers glimmer and glee
Even the sun subdued
To wan gloom
Long before it sets
Still
I know colour lingers beneath
Recall its effervescence
Manifest the latent joy
Until that rises above the horizon
Of my heartÂ
Saturation
I remind myself
On the dreary days
The days that drain my heart
Of all but grey
Seek the colours
Let them saturate my being
Rekindle the joy in my heart
Solid as the Hills
Cloudy tendrils cling to hillsides
As a child to its mother on school’s first day
The bus driver beckons
Come, this way to new worlds
Mother’s kiss lingers on rosy cheek
Solid and eternal as the hills
In the Midst of Eternity
Some places just feel ancient
Time there stopped
And the land quit changing
I never feel more here and now
Than in such places
This little speck of life, I
In the midst
Of eternity
One tiny moment
Of meaninglessness
Writ large on existence
