Patrick, this poem is fantastic, I really like how you encapsulated the raw power of the photograph through words and what it can mean to all of us when we capture that special moment, brilliant! I also notice that you have written other impressive motivational poems in the month of April, including two other favourites of mine ‘We Hapless Beautiful Many’ and ‘Froth & Churn’.

  Your timing couldn’t be better, or more auspicious. For the last couple days, I’ve been compiling a list of journals to submit poetry and fiction to. Yours just went to the top of the list. I’ll get a submission for all three of these poems in before your deadline. I’ll be having a look at submitting to your poetry and creative arts journals as well.
  
  In this early stage of simply gathering possibilities, the task has grown to just a tad on the daunting side, as I try to sort out which journals are accepting submissions now or in the near future, whether they accept ‘previously published’ work, which might be interested in publishing anything I submit, which of my wide variety of themes, subjects, styles might appeal to each journal’s editors and readership.
  
  I’m guessing you’ve also experienced, those moments in this process of submitting work for which a little external stimulus is helpful. Thank you for the additional inertia to push forward.
  
  Some might see it as ironic that the editor of an inspirational journal would contact me at a moment when I could use a little inspiration. Instead, I recognize it as the kind of thing that happens all the time when we begin to act on our dreams and inspirations.
  
  Heh… there’s probably a poem in there. 😉
  
  BTW: Brilliant idea to run a NaPoWriMo anthology. I imagine you won’t mind if I posted a link to your journal submissions page on appropriate resources?

    Hey there Patrick, thank you for replying! You are right, I have been exactly in the same boat as you and it is important to identify what aspects journals are looking for. The rejection rate is so incredibly high because of their submissions that it is extremely important to follow their rules to a T and to try to match your own output with what they have previously published. I like to think that I am an inspirational individual to a lot of people and I am deliberately contacting people that I am impressed with in order to let them know my feelings about their work and that they should get submitting to my journal and take advantage of the opportunity, since so few rarely take the time out to do it! 🙂
    
    By all means feel free to share our journal submissions page, we really are open to a lot of topics so long as the poems are inspirational, uplifting and/or motivational! Appreciate you doing this for us and we look forward to reading your submissions soon 🙂

    Hey there Patrick! Congratulations on getting into the Auroras & Blossoms NaPoWriMo Anthology, we are honoured to feature your excellent poetry in there! 🙂 You also mentioned above about wanting to submit to other creative journals too. If you are not already aware, in this month of June Auroras & Blossoms are running an event called “PoArtMo”, which stands for Positive Art Month and we have an Anthology project and PoArtMo Contest that can be entered too. You are welcome to enter your photography into this event. As a starting point for you, since we could not include the photos that you submitted with your poems into the NaPoWriMo Anthology because that particular Anthology was purely poetry only, you could always submit those photos into our PoArtMo Anthology project or PoArtMo Contest. It is also worth bearing in mind that if you enter the PoArtMo Contest and your entries are accepted, you automatically get included in our PoArtMo Anthology, so the Contest is double the value, since you get promoted twice and is a fantastic way to get your work noticed.
