  Oh, me too! I have been very fortunate to have visited most of the American Southwest’s National Parks/Monuments/Forests. They are all exquisite!

    That is great! I have one of those National Parks Passports, so I have been trying to enjoy as many parks as I can. I wish I visited more parks when I lived in Arizona – I bet they are all beautiful. Photo is of Dubai, but not mine (wish I had that talent and travel experience! haha).       Right… Park Passes. I have to remember that next time I go roadtrip crazy. 🙂
      
      I could spend months in southern Utah, even though I’ve visited most of the parks and monuments there. Northern Arizona and the Four Corners region is also magnificent.

Great poetry, Patrick–I hadn’t thought of that before, that ripples don’t return, hmm…so even though the tides ebb and flow, the same wavelets don’t come back? I must sound ignorant, for one who loves the sea/beach as much as I do… 🙂

  <smile> The photograph’s title is a riff off a favourite Genesis song entitled, ““Ripples”. “Ripples never come back” is a line in the chorus.
  
  Sail away, away
  Ripples never come back
  Gone to the other side
  Sail away, away
  
  But, no, ripples only come back if there’s something to rebound off, say the edge of a swimming pool, or a bucket, or the rocks at the edge of an otherwise calm sea.
  
  The waves which crash upon the shore were born far out to sea, created by the friction of the wind as it blows over the surface of the ocean. They’ll bounce back from a rocky shore or concrete jetty.
  
  🙂 None of us needs to know everything there is to know. There is no ignorance which cannot be undone.

    Thanks much for the mini-science lesson! 🙂 There are those who’d argue that ignorance cannot be undone…”you can’t fix stupid” is tossed around freely.

      <chuckle> Ironically, most of the people who say that are more ignorant (and stupid about it) than they’ll ever understand.
      
      Ignorance can always be undone. A person merely has to want to undo it, and then take steps to learn.

        There’s a certain amount of arrogance, and perhaps ignorance behind the toss-away line. I’ve heard it from folks in all professions.
