Power

Into the Chasm, Athabasca Falls, Athabasca River, Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada
I stand beside the chasm’s tumult
Powerless to end the flood
Or even mitigate the flow

Spectator at the edge
Close enough to feel the spray

Of power’s fearsome rush
