Soaring

In dreams I soar
A gull on the sea wind
My bird eyes see
Where the air rises
Catch the updraft
Up high into the heavens
Then swoop and sail
Unfettered by land
Or gravity
Loudly skree with the bliss

On the rocks I stand
Storm winds blowing
Heavy onto shore
Reach out my arms
Sense the lifting air
Eyes closed
I swoop and sail
Feel the wind flutter
Through my feathery hair
Until my spirit soars
Just like the dreams
