Lightworker

Rainbow in the Maelstrom, Athabasca Falls, Athabasca River, Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada
In the turmoil of fragmentation
As what was once whole
Fractures and atomizes
I am startled to discover
Running through the center
Of this formidable chaos

A rainbow

Vibrant
Insistent
Inspiring
Beautiful

Such a thing would not exist
Without the particulate mist

Its simple existence
Means nothing at all
Without eyes to gaze upon it
And a mind to reflect
On the beauty arising
From such maelstrom of violence

So I gird myself
Enter the mist
Resolving to rebuild
From the disarray

I choose to be the light
Which makes rainbows possible
