We woke early, ready to go at 5:30AM, but our departure delayed. Arriving an hour later, we’d missed the sunrise and the crimson skies glimpsed from the jeep as it switch-backed its way to the temple at the peak.
I can only imagine what I missed, but what I witnessed — what I experienced — was exquisite.
Later, as the sun rose into the sky, and the colours faded to cloudy grey, we practiced yoga on the temple grounds, while the monkeys stole my breakfast.
A morning I could not have imagined.
