Layers

Himalayan Foothills Sunrise, Kunjapuri Devi Temple, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India
All the many layers
I peel back
And still another layer

Each a mystery
Each a surprise

Some a shock
Some a delight

Some days I demur
I let the layers stand

Some days I wish
I could put some back

But mostly I’m content
With the task
Of self-discovery
