Winter ~ Pic and a Word Challenge #65

Snow and Shovels, Whistler, British Columbia, Canada
I want to take a picture
Of winter descended
But the snowfall changed
To light drizzle
It’s cold and damp outside
True signs of a
Coast Mountain winter

A little shiver at the thought
Of going outside
So I slide open the glass door
Peek out onto the deck
And find a couple snow shovels
I may not need to use after all
If the rain continues to fall

A challenge response within a challenge. This photograph is also a wintry response to this week’s WordPress Photo Challenge which is “It’s Not This Time of Year Without…”

Last week we looked out the Windows…. This week? Let’s have some Winter fun, or find something else in this photograph of snow and shovels on the deck of my sister’s home in Whistler, British Columbia.

The Pic and a Word Challenge is a weekly creativity prompt offered Sunday mornings.

Each week I provide a photograph of mine along with a single word. The challenge? Use the pic and/or word as points of inspiration to create something — a photograph, a painting, prose, poetry, fiction, non-fiction, longread or just a few words. You are welcome to use these two elements (photograph and word) literally, thematically or metaphorically. If you create both images and words, all the better.
