Charcoal and Smudge

Charcoal and Smudge, Howe Sound, Sea to Sky Highway, Britannia Beach, British Columbia, Canada
The clouds
Descended like a cloak
Over the mountains

The light
Flat as the calm sea
And equally tranquil

A scene
Rendered entirely in charcoal and smudge
But for a band of cottony hanging fog

The wrens
Flocked through in sweeping dives
Two lingering to roost on ancient pilings

While I
Perhaps like the perched wrens
Basked in the serenity

Of a world at peace with itself

The Calm Grey Bay
Howe Sound
Sea to Sky Highway
Britannia Beach
British Columbia, Canada
