Leaving Flat

I have never lived for long
In land wide open to the sky
A world full lit, naught for shadow
No nook or cranny to explore

I prefer the rise and fall
The twist and turn
Cliche they are
But how I learn

A journey from
Point A to B
Which takes straight line
Just leaves me flat
