Life comes at me in waves
Rolling in
Crashing down
Leaving me sputtering
Gasping

Though…
Every now and again
I catch one
A long glorious ride
Exhilaration
Exultation
Delightful experience
All the way to shore

The safe
Secure
Shore

Where I sit
And watch the waves
Content

Though…
Not for long
Before diving back in
To the frothy white maelstrom
Paddling against the flow
Ducking the breakers
Seeking the next ride
