Black and White

From behind the clouds
The sun leaps out
Glares in my eyes
The world becomes
A contrast of
Simple black and white

The details lost
No greys or shadows
The colours lost
No textured nuance

And it occurs to me
The same thing happens
When I shine the light too hard
On the truths I’m seeking
