This Wintry Road

This wintry road I travel by
Takes me through a country wide
Feathered here and there with buttes
Which break the plain to just one side

A single car approaches me
Then whistles by
The last I’ll see
Before sky fades and daylight flies

Left all alone
In solitude
With just the road
And jolly mood
