Looking back to remain present

Sometimes, I like to look back
At where I’ve been
At how I got here

There’s often a line
A flow
A grace unintended
Unnoticed
Unseen before the backward glance

Now that I see
l like to retrace the steps
In my mind
Relive the journey
This time aware of the rhythms
Mindful of the beauty

As I begin to move forward again
I remind myself
Be mindful
Remain aware
Watch for the beauty
Feel the lines
As life unfolds
Beneath your feet
