Spires

I look up
Up up up
Into the clouds
Into the heavens

And I wonder
At how we build so high
When we worship our gods

Or when we think
We have become them

I look down

Down down down
To my feet

Upon the ground
Upon the Earth
I take a step

And I wonder
At how good the grass feels
On the soles of my feet
Could a god be so happy?
