Life Springs

I learn to let life flow where it must
Knowing, like water, it can only go
Where the landscape allows it

Water will not run uphill
It will not run fast across a plain
It will not run at all
Where no rain falls

I learn to accept
That life cannot always take me
Where I want to go
When I want to get there

I find peace in the still water
I revel in the rapids
I know that even death
Is only a time between rains
