A long day ends

As a long day working
Draws to a close
The clouds roll in
The sun draws low
The wind goes calm

Clouds and Islands darken
Hinting at the night to come
And the sleep
The long overdue sleep
Darkness welcomes

But I already rest my mind upon a pillow
Let the day pass through it
On its way out a mental door
Leaving my mind empty as darkness
My heart light as the last rays through the clouds
