To travel between worlds
I take a ferry
From the big smoke
To a small Island
Then back again

Landing on an Island
Is always like
The quiet moment alone
In the living room
Just as the fridge turns off

I am startled by
The sudden quiet
Just as startled by
How noisy the quiet
Of a moment ago now seems

Returning from an Island
The sudden noise startles me
I find it hard to believe
So much tension arises
From such a small change
