Crisp, chill air
Flames singe the night
Cinders crackle
Sparks rise
Filling starry sky

Notes issue
In gentle arpeggio
Strings plucked
And strummed

Resonant wood
Gentle curves
Against my chest

Moments recalled
Lament in song

Beautiful, painful solitude
