Presence

Sunset, Mojave Desert, Route 66, California, United States of America
I spend some time
In a place like this
A place which strips away

Pretense
Distraction
Aggrandisement
Avarice

I find my presence
In the present

And in that presence
Is love

I sit
Let thoughts wander
In the silent present
Until they rest on you

Realisation comes
That you are my desert

I discover my presence
In your presence

Selfless
Compassion
Fulfillment
Peace

I spend some time
In a place that’s you
A place which fills me up

Sunset,
Mojave Desert
Route 66
California, United States of America

April has been National Poetry Month and I have been participating in the National Poetry Writing Month challenge (NaPoWriMo) — 30 poems in 30 days. Although, I got a little bit ahead — this is, I think, poem #46. =) This might be the last poem for the month. Or… maybe not. 😉

All the poetry I wrote for National Poetry Writing Month can be found tagged as #NaPoWriMo.
