A castle shrouded in grey

Caerphilly Castle, Caerphilly, Wales, United Kingdom
I have these dreams
Dim and dark
Or are they memories?

Of a battle
And a castle
Shrouded in grey

But
For fires
Raging

And my loved one
There
Life threatened

So I leave the field
Leave my brothers
To defend

While I
I ride
To my love

Too late

So my tears
Wash away
The soot

Charcoal

On the
Dead grey skin
Of the one I love

Then I wake

From the dream
Night or day
Or is it memory?

For I know she’s here

In my life
Tied to me
And I to her

Though we
Cannot be
Together

I lost her
Five Hundred
Years ago

And even now
I cannot
Save her

Save us

Though it’s good
That we both live
And know the tie

That binds us still

Which leaves me
Wondering
How many times

Future and past

Do we
Meet
Again

And is there
Always
Sorrow?
