The Fairylands

Hoodoos, Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah, United States of America
I have visited
Many of the Fairylands
On Earth

And while I have never seen
An Elf, Sprite or Dwarf
I know their presence
In the fantastical beauty
Of their works

For what happy circumstance
Of chance and physics and chemistry
Could create such elaborate structures
So exquisite in form, texture and colour
But for the hand of some magical intelligence
Playing no small role in the creation
Quietly, without need for credit
And seeking no reward
But for the beauty
Of creation
Itself
