Spelunking

Many, many times have I
Eschewed the paths in darkness
To take instead a path in light
My wisdom interceding

Until one day thought I
Perhaps the dark is just unknown
In need of light
And wanting an explorer

So much richer now am I
As often I’m spelunking
Stepping off paths brightly lit
To revel in discovery
