Curves Ahead

Sometimes I think
It would be nice
If there were bold
Bright signs along the path
Warning me
What’s coming up
On the journey
That is life

Curves ahead
Construction
Crosswinds
Historical Marker
Scenic Viewpoint

Then I remember
Every step on the path
Is an expression
Of one of these signs

And I remind myself
That the signs are there
Though not so bold
Or obvious
As a roadsign
But obvious enough
If I look for them
If I remain aware
Of the world around me
Of the world inside
