Like Icing

Like Icing
On the approach
I smell the sea salt
Heavy in the onshore wind

I know the waves
Will be breaking
Far off the shore
Carrying their foam
Up onto the beach

A layer of icing
Spread thick
On the edge
Of the sea

The Pacific Coast Highway
Between Santa Cruz and Monterrey
California, United States of America
