Awakening in the Dream Factory

Awakening in the Dream Factory
The sun burns
Bright and hot
Washing out the sky
In the alley
Where people die
And the Dream Factory makes
Stories that don’t really matter
Stories that deflect and desensitize

I stop
Breathe
Look deeply
Reflect

And there I find
A world with
An indigo sky
And a little hope

A world where no one trusts
The Truths they are fed
Where we listen, instead
For those who speak truly
With compassion
And love
Who feel a deep seated grief for what is
And a deeper commitment to what can be

Into that world
Jump I
