The indigo and violet of night
Chase the furious sun from the sky
Livid oranges and yellows
Cling to the horizon
But soon enough are vanquished
Chase the furious sun from the sky
Livid oranges and yellows
Cling to the horizon
But soon enough are vanquished
Sitting by my fire
In a deserted campground
I wait for the battle’s aftermath
For the starshine and full moon
As the fury of sunset wanes
I am left with the peace of night
The Milky Way rules the sky
Until the full moon rises

Oh, wow! This is my fourth response to Jennifer Nichole Wells’ One Word Photo Challenge. The challenge this week is, Night.
My first response was Being of the Night, and the second, When Night Fell. Dawn Apocalypse was the third.
