Risking the avalanche

Symphony
Green circles for beginners
Blue squares for intermediates
Black diamonds for experts
Double blacks for extreme

Wouldn’t it be nice
If the paths we could take in life
Were marked like ski runs

Then we would always know
Which paths were within our ability
With just the right amount of challenge

Then again, I

I duck the rope
Ski outside the boundary
Take on the risky terrain

Because, life isn’t safe
My path tests my mettle
I push beyond my perceived limitations

The best powder is skied
With at least some small chance
Of an avalanche
