Expressing the divine within

The works of women and men
Are seldom so exquisitely beautiful
As when they are motivated by passion
For something greater than themselves

Whether that passion be God
Or Gaia
An ideal
Or a cause
Beauty
Or love

The expression could be as simple
As a few strokes of a brush
Or a few letters from a pen
Expressing a vision of a world
Perhaps known only to its creator

But the best of these
Filter down
To an essence we call
Divine

The divine is something
We all can know
Its source being
Deep within ourselves
