They come for the snow

They Come For Snow
They come for the snow
For the high mountain vistas
To be above the clouds
Above it all

They come to rise up
Then to speed down
To glide on silken slopes
The graceful arc of edges

They come to float
Through powder, flowing
Over thigh and shoulder
A moment of Zen, every turn

They come to be with family
With friends
To meet new friends
To party, and cavort and love

They come for all that
But…
If there is no snow
They will not come

They come for the snow
