Missing the Sun

Missing the Sun
I live in a rainforest
Clouds and drizzle and downpours
Are my grey life

But every now and again
The sun shines through
For weeks, or months

Then I forget
I live in a rainforest
Until it rains

Rain can fall for a month
But I will miss the sun more
On the second day of rain
Than on the thirtieth

Today is the first day
Today, rain is welcome
Tomorrow, I will miss the sun
