I get caught up in the details
See all the differences
Understand why
It can be so hard to get along

On some glorious sunset evening
I see the world in silhouette
And understand how
We are all the same

We live
We laugh
We love

We cry
We hurt
We heal

We give
We take
We sacrifice

It does not matter
How we look
How we dress
How wise or ignorant
How selfish or selfless

I am in some small corner of the world
Unlike any other corner
But I could be anywhere
Because everywhere
We all enjoy
Sharing the quiet, reflective moments
Of sunset
With a crowd of strangers

Sometimes
That is enough
To remember
What beauty means
What love means
What being means
